About Us


Frio River Resorts LLC is locally owned and operated by Brannon and Wendi Hightower along with Gary and Sonja Hightower. We provide professional management services in the rapidly increasing vacation home rental market in the Concan, Texas - Frio Canyon area. Our goal is to provide a clean and safe environment for our guests while operating in an efficient manner that will maximize the return to our property owners.

With nearly 100 years of combined expertise in asset management, property management, real estate development and marketing, software development, web content creation and marketing including mobile-responsive websites and ROI-centric SEO, and a strong online presence, we have developed and refined a toolkit that affords expanded services to property owners and our guests.

Utilizing the latest productivity tools and a “boots on the ground” approach, we offer quick and accurate accountability to our property owners and our guests. Consulting services are also available to our property owners to keep them aware of valuation, taxation, and trends.



General Partner

Brannon brings 25+ years high-level IT expertise to Frio River Resorts. Developing and refining our website and working to create our web-based state-of-the-art reservation, accounting, and operating platform, Brannon also oversees our maintenance operations and capital improvement endeavors. With a keen eye for property inspection and condition, Brannon works tirelessly to ensure each home is ready to provide an enjoyable vacation experience for every guest.

Operating Partner/Property Manager

With over 25 years of commercial and multifamily property and asset management expertise, Wendi, a licensed Texas real estate salesperson, brings a unique array of experience to Frio River Resorts. Wendi oversees reservations and accounting as well as guest relations, outreach, marketing, and community involvement. With a dedicated focus on property assessment and local market condition analysis, Wendi works to assure our portfolio operates at the highest level possible for both our guests and our property owners.

Partner & Founder

Gary has been an active licensed real estate broker in Texas since 1974. His real estate background includes appraising, general contracting, ad valorem tax representation, and loan originating. He has owned, managed, and sold rental properties for 45+ years. Gary operates his brokerage firm out of Concan and has successfully closed nearly ½ billion dollars of multifamily properties since 1990. Gary and his wife of 53 years, Sonja, live in Concan full time. As of 2020, Gary retired from day-to-day operations and now provides consultation services and special-project coordination.

Partner & Co-Founder

Sonja has been a licensed Texas real estate salesperson since 1976. As of 2020, Sonja retired from day-to-day operations but continuously strives to finds ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency that ultimately benefit our property owners. Additionally, she has been a real asset to the company by providing constructive property condition assessments, interior upgrades, and landscaping recommendations that have made our properties more appealing.
